In today’s video, we’ll teach you how to use the Banned Files feature. This feature gives you the ability to block certain files from being uploaded by users. To specify which files to block, you use what are known as regular expressions. We’ve already discussed regular expressions in a couple of blog posts, so just click the links below to know more about them.

These expressions allow you to block a file based on characters in the filename, like a particular file extension or extensions. For instance, let’s say you don’t want all your users to upload any kind of video file, perhaps to avoid legal issues in the case of pirated videos or simply to save disk space, since these files tend to be quite large.
