How to Setup High Availability File Transfer Servers

Overview

One of the challenges of setting up a high availability environment for transfer servers is in making sure the servers involved have the same configurations. But if you're using JSCAPE MFT Server, there are easy ways to do it. One option is to set up your MFT Server instances to use an external RDBMS as a shared global datastore. The second is to use the Failover module. In this post, we'll focus on the latter. MFT Server's Failover module will enable you to synchronize your servers either automatically or manually with a single click.

Amazon S3 vs Local Storage - Where Should You Store Files Uploaded to Your File Transfer Server?

Some modern file transfer servers already have the built-in capability to store uploaded files in different places. For instance, in JSCAPE MFT Server, you have the option to store uploaded files either locally (i.e. on the same machine as the system running the file transfer service itself) or to a remote server or storage service. One of these storage services is Amazon S3. But why would you want to store uploaded files there?
