How To Get Your MFT Server Email Each User A List of Old Files

Posted by John Carl Villanueva on Mon, Apr 04, 2016 @ 03:54 AM

Overview

Some time in the past, we showed our readers how to set up a managed file transfer server so that it could email certain people a list of all old files. That email was meant to be sent only to a select number of individuals, presumably the server admins. But what if you wanted to email each user their own individual lists? This blog post will teach you how.

Applying AS2 Encryption

Posted by John Carl Villanueva on Tue, Feb 02, 2016 @ 02:17 AM

Overview

If your AS2 connection already runs over HTTPS, your EDI messages should already be protected by the data-in-motion encryption that comes with SSL/TLS. But what if you want an added layer of security or if you're somehow only using HTTP and want to encrypt your transmission? You'll need something like this.

Posted by John Carl Villanueva on Fri, Oct 30, 2015 @ 10:35 AM

Overview

When your server antivirus detects malware infection on a recent file upload, what would you like it to do? In our case, we prefer it to email us an alert notification. That way, we wouldn't have to check the logs periodically to see if a virus was found. This post details how we'd achieve that.

Overview

A couple of years ago, we wrote a 3-part tutorial showing how you could automate FTP virus scans with Kaspersky Antivirus. That article, which was written based on a Linux environment, is in need of an update. But before we make changes there, here's a similar article that Windows users should find suited for them.

Install A Linux SFTP Server Via Command Line and Configure Via Web UI

Posted by John Carl Villanueva on Sat, Oct 17, 2015 @ 04:18 PM

Overview

Let's say you want to install an SFTP server on a Linux machine devoid of a GUI. However, after installation, you don't want to configure it (i.e. add users, create keys, enable public key authentication, choose algorithms, etc.) locally, moreso via the terminal. Instead, you want this SFTP server to be configured remotely through a graphical Web user interface. This is how we recommend you do it.
