JSCAPE MFT Server 8.3 Released

JSCAPE is pleased to announce the release of JSCAPE MFT Server 8.3.  This release contains several  improvements, the most notable being the addition of streaming compression support in it's AFTP (Accelerated File Transfer Protocol) service.  Utilizing streaming compression users can achieve file transfers up to 800% faster than before. 

Several security enhancements were also added to the latest release to help protect against common attack vectors and pass security compliance requirements.  All users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version of JSCAPE MFT Server.

Roles of Server and Client Keys in Secure File Transfers - Part 1

Overview

Secure file transfers typically employ public key cryptography. This cryptographic system involves the use of two different keys: a public key and a private key. In JSCAPE MFT Server, such keys can be easily generated, imported, and exported in the Key Manager. But some first-time users find it hard to even start using the Key Manager. One reason for that is because they fail to see the difference between server keys and client keys.

Overview

Here's something that's particularly useful if you want to provide access control to JSCAPE MFT Server directories based on user roles.  It's called Groups. JSCAPE managed file transfer server Groups are named sets of virtual directories and file system permissions that may be assigned to multiple user accounts.  You can use them to comply with certain laws and regulations like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and SOX.
